Gazipaşa is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Antalya and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Antalya (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 1993 . The place is located approx. 170 km southeast of the city center of Antalya and according to the city logo was raised to a municipality ( Belediye ) in 1948 .
Gazipaşa Airport ( IATA abbreviation: GZP) was built in 1999, but its runway is too short for many of the common passenger aircraft.
Larger sources of income for the residents are fruits, vegetables, charcoal and ore minerals. A special kind of banana, also called donkey banana (similar to the plantain), only grows in this city.
The ancient city of Selinus is on the outskirts .
