The Malatya Erhaç airport or Malatya airport ( Turkish Malatya Erhaç Havalimanı or Malatya Havalimanı ) is a Turkish airport near the town of Malatya in the town of Aksaray. It is operated by the state DHMİ .

Airport grounds

The airport was opened in 1941 and, after initially being used exclusively for the military, is now also used for civilian purposes. It has a terminal with a capacity of 300,000 passengers per year and a paved runway that does not have an instrument flight landing system (ILS). The apron has a size of 110 × 100 meters and can accommodate two commercial aircraft. There are also numerous hangars and smaller taxiways for military operations .

The city of Malatya assigned to him is about 21 kilometers away as the crow flies. It can be reached by taxi, private car or minibus. The route on the D-875 expressway is approximately 30 kilometers. There is a parking lot for almost 100 cars in front of the terminal.

The two airlines Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines regularly fly to Malatya on scheduled flights . From here they serve Ankara and the two Istanbul airports Sabiha Gökçen and Ataturk , with the latter responsible for about half of all passengers and the other two each for about a quarter at the airport. Turkish Airlines is represented with around 75 percent.
