The Kayseri Airport ( IATA code ASR , ICAO code LTAU even Kayseri Airport Erkilet , Turkish Kayseri Havalimanı or Kayseri Erkilet Havalimanı , English Kayseri Airport , Kayseri Erkilet International Airport or Erkilet International Airport ) is a classified as an international commercial airport passenger airport with military Use. It is located about ten kilometers north of the city of Kayseri , Cappadocia near the town of Erkilet in the Asian part of Turkey . It is operated by the state airport operator DHMI .
History and facilities
The airport was opened in 1998 and is used both civilly and by the Turkish Air Force . It has a terminal with a capacity of 5,500,000 passengers a year. It has a 3000 meter long paved runway with an instrument landing system (ILS). The apron for civil aviation has a size of 400 × 102 meters and can accommodate eight commercial aircraft. There are numerous other facilities and hangars at the airport for military operations, and the transport aircraft of the Turkish Air Force are stationed at the airport.
The airport can be reached by taxi, private car or airport bus. There is parking space for 430 cars in front of the terminal.
