List of Mexican ambassadors in Ghana
The General Assembly of the United Nations recommended by resolution 944 on December 15, 1955 that the government of the United Kingdom - in consultation with the Plebiscite Commissioner - hold a plebiscite to determine whether the people of British Togoland are self -sufficient Form a state or wanted to form the state of Ghana with the then Gold Coast . The Mexican diplomat Eduardo Espinosa y Prieto was appointed plebiscite commissioner for the vote on May 9, 1956 . The embassy in Accra was opened by the then Mexican President Adolfo López Mateos , who was friends with the then Ghanaian President Kwame Nkrumah .
