This list of New Zealand radio programs lists all radio programs in New Zealand and sorts them by type of operator. There is Radio New Zealand public broadcasting , private broadcasters, Maori language programs, and local non-commercial broadcasting . Private radio programs are in turn classified according to network companies and further individual programs without a network.

Radio New Zealand

Radio New Zealand is New Zealand's public broadcaster. It produces two national and one international radio programs. Debates from the New Zealand Parliament will also be broadcast on medium wave.

  • Radio New Zealand National - information, talk, feature and radio plays, partly also music
  • Radio New Zealand Concert - mainly classical music, partly also jazz and world music

Media Works Radio

Media Works Radios produces national and regional radio programs and is a subsidiary of Media Works New Zealand .

Nationwide programs

  • The Edge - current pop music for 10 to 29 year olds (Contemporary Hit Radio)
  • The Rock - rock music for 20 to 44 year olds, especially male listeners
  • Solid Gold - Oldies from the 1960s and 1970s for 40 to 54 year olds
  • Radio Live - News and Talk, primarily for 35 to 54 year olds
  • Kiwi FM - broadcasts New Zealand music only, primarily for those aged 15 to 49
  • Live sports - sports talk
  • Mai FM - urban music for the under 35s
  • George FM - dance music for 25 to 39 year olds

Regional and local programs

  • More FM - 21 regional programs are produced under this brand
  • The Breeze - six regional programs with an easy listening music program for 35 to 54 year old female listeners are produced under this brand for Waikato, Coromandel, Manawatu, Wellington, Kapiti Coast, Christchurch and Dunedin
  • Radio Dunedin - local radio station for Dunedin
  • Times FM - local station for Orewa
  • Coromandel FM - local station for Coromandel

NZME. radio

NZME Radio (previously The Radio Network ) produces national and regional radio programs. NZME Radio is part of NZME. New Zealand Media and Entertainment and is the former commercial arm of Radio New Zealand.

  • Newstalk ZB - information and talk for people over 35
  • Classic Hits FM - music channel ( adult contemporary format) for 25 to 55 year olds
  • ZM - current music for 18 to 39 year olds
  • Radio Sport - sports reports
  • Radio Hauraki - Classic Rock for the 25 to 55 year old, mostly male listener, former pirate station in the Hauraki Gulf
  • Viva FM - Easy-Listening music program for primarily female listeners, only in some regions of the North Island
  • Flava - hip hop and R'n'B music; in Auckland and Hawkes Bay
  • Coast - Oldies for 40 to 54 year olds
  • Easy Mix - Easy Listening

Rhema Broadcasting Group

The Rhema Broadcasting Group produces radio programs with Christian content.
