List of ships and boats of the Luftwaffe from 1935 to 1945
The list of ships and boats of the Air Force includes sea and port vehicles that were under the control of the Air Force from 1935 to 1945 . Well over 1000 watercraft were in service with the Air Force from 1935 to 1945, the vast majority of them in ports, near air bases and near the coast.
The Luftwaffe was sometimes inventive in naming its ships, not only to indicate (or disguise) their purpose, but also to distinguish them from similar ships in the Navy.
