List of territorial changes in Saxony in 2006

The list of area changes in Saxony 2006 contains changes to municipal areas of the Free State of Saxony in the period from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006 Reclassifications from parts of one municipality to another.

In Saxony there were eleven municipal area changes in 2006, four of which were incorporated, one name change and six municipalities were reclassified. Nine of the resulting communities still exist today, the others were dissolved due to later changes in area.

Legend

  • Date : date of legal effect of the change of area
  • Municipality before the change : Municipality before the area change
  • Area change : Type of area change
  • Municipality after the change : Municipality after the area change
  • District : District of the municipality after the change of area

The sorting is done chronologically: date, independent cities, rural districts, receiving or newly formed municipality. Communities that still exist today are highlighted in color.
