List of territorial changes in Saxony 2003

The list of territorial changes in Saxony 2003 contains changes to municipal areas of the Free State of Saxony in the period from January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2003. These include, among other things, mergers and separations of municipalities, integration of municipalities into another, changes in the municipality name and Reclassifications from parts of one municipality to another.

In Saxony there were 17 changes in municipal area in 2003, nine of which were incorporated, four were reclassified, three name changes and a merger of municipalities. In 16 of the 17 cases, the municipality still exists after the change , the others were dissolved due to subsequent changes of area. The incorporation of the city of Siebenlehn into the community of Großschirma is a specialty . Großschirma received the town charter of Siebenlehn.
