history

Stauchitz manor around 1860
  • Joke
Bloßwitz Church

This district was first mentioned in 1226 as the Blosewitz manor . The name goes back to the Slavic locator Bloz .

  • Dobernitz

The place is mentioned in 1334 under the name Dodranwicz . The name comes from Old Sorbian and means something like good place , derived from dobry = good .

  • Doesitz

The village is mentioned as Teskuiz in 1261 . The name goes back to the Slavic locator Utesk . The area has been settled since ancient times, as evidenced by the discovery of Neolithic cord ceramics .

  • Gleina

In Gleina as Glynen there has been a manor house since 1296. The place name can be derived from Old Sorbian glina = clay .

Groptitz is mentioned in 1323 as Gruptiz , derived from the locator Grubota . It was incorporated into Seerhausen on April 1, 1938, and with this to Plotitz on October 1, 1996. The mountain of the Groptitz landfill , which is visible over many kilometers and above all from Riesa, is striking , which is now fenced and greened and from the surrounding area you have a good view of the city of Riesa.

  • Grubnitz

The place is mentioned around 1320 as Grobanuwicz . The name was derived from the name Gruban . A Germanic settlement in the Jahnatal was discovered near Grubnitz. In 1350 the village is also mentioned as a manor house.

  • Hahnefeld

Hahnefeld was first mentioned as Hanvelt and was mentioned as a manor in 1296.

  • Ibanitz

Mentioned in 1329 as Ywanwicz , which means Ivan's village .

  • Veal

The place was mentioned in 1283 as Calewicz , the name could be derived from kal = swamp .

  • Panitz

Mentioned in 1279 as Panitz, which means something like Herrendorf (Pan = Lord) .

  • Plotitz

Plotitz was created as a round village on the slope of the Mehltheuerbach. There was a manor house here as early as 1190. The place name is likely to be derived from the Old Sorbian bloto = swamp .

  • Poeh

The place emerged from the former Vorwerk of the manor Oberstaucha. It was first mentioned in a document in 1541. The remains of a medieval moated castle were found northeast of Pöhsig .

  • Prosession

Prositz is first mentioned as Prostwicz in 1334. The place name is probably derived from Provost . This name refers to the neighboring Staucha monastery.

  • Ragewitz
Ragewitz School

Mentioned for the first time in 1266 as Roguiz and since 1287 a manor.

The name could be of Slavic origin, from the Slavic plant name Zerucha or Zerus = rabbit foot, cress, field flower . The German word ending -hausen speaks against it , so that the place name comes from its presumably first owner (one of the old von Seer family). The castle, originally built as a water festival on the Jahna, was blown up in 1949.

  • Staucha
Staucha manor, manor house

Staucha is first mentioned as Stuchowe in 1259 . From the first third of the 13th century to the beginning of the 14th century there was a nunnery in Staucha. Oberstaucha was created by dividing the village. This division was reversed in 1751.

  • Stauchitz

Stauchitz is mentioned as Stwchewicz in 1428 . However, some feudal lords have been named for this area beforehand. Bronze Age and Slavic settlement remains of the Slavic castle Gana were also found. The castle was demolished in 1949.

  • Steudten

Mentioned in 1243 as Ztudene , which can probably be traced back to the Old Sorbian studeny = cold . Until the 16th century, the village belonged to the Altzella monastery, later to the city of Nossen .

  • Push seat

Mentioned as Stesciz in 1283, which is derived from Sdech, Stes or Stas = short form of Stanislaus . In Stösitz there was a moated castle , which was probably mentioned as a manor in 1283.

  • Treben

Mentioned in 1261 as Trebene , which means something like place of the Treba or place on the clearing .

  • Wilschwitz

The place is mentioned as Wilskewicz (Old Sorbian for place des Vilc (e) k) in 1334. The place has also been a manor house since 1378.

Southeast of the district Steudten stands on a hill called Huthübel at 218 m above sea level. NN a menhir . It can be reached via a field path that branches off from Zschochauer Straße to the east about 300 m south of Steudten. From a resting place on the hill, a footpath leads through a bush directly to the menhir. The 1.85 m high porphyry stone stands on a burial mound. The menhir marks the border between the districts of Meissen and Central Saxony . The name Huthübel suggests that courts were held here in the Middle Ages .
