history

The villages of Dammenheim and Timmendorf, located in the area of today's Thiendorf, are first mentioned in a document in 1350.

According to the location, Thiendorf is a street village and Dammenhain is an estate with houses. The Knüppeldamm discovered during excavation work not far from the inn justifies the assumption that the village was founded by the Lords of Schönfeld as early as 1220/1250 . Franconian hooves and three-sided farms speak for Franconia as the first settlers .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Lötzschen and Welxande were incorporated.

Today Thiendorf is the administrative seat of the municipality of the same name. Due to the good transport connections, the area has developed very positively in recent years. In addition to many new settlements in the individual districts, the industrial area east of the autobahn has grown enormously.

On January 1, 2016, the neighboring community of Tauscha was incorporated, with which Thiendorf had previously worked in the Thiendorf administrative community.
