Grossenhainer care

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Großenhainer Pflege is a natural area in Saxony , the most important place of which is the city of Großenhain . The predominantly agriculturally dominated natural area is predominantly covered by fertile loess soil .

Geology and geomorphology

Geologically, there is a transition in it from the low mountain range and hill country in the south to the lowlands of northern Saxony. The basement consists of the Meißner granitoid massif in the southwest and the Lausitz Grauwackenkomplex in the northeast. This intrusive complex consists primarily of monzonite , granodiorite , monzogranite and other dioritic rock types. It forms a highland between Meißen and Großenhain with overlying tertiary weathering remains and heights over 200 m. The north-eastern Grossenhainer care is characterized by Grauwackekuppe with 160 to 170 m height. A clearly pronounced dome relief has developed especially in the Schönfeld and Thiendorf area as well as near Sacka and Würschnitz . Pleistocene deposits range in thickness from a few decimeters to 40 meters. Mention should be made of gravel and moraine plates , terminal moraine ridges and sediment deposits . The terminal moraine lines south of Hirschfeld and Ortrand form the distinctive end of the Großenhainer care to the north. To the east the sandy character increases and the natural area flows smoothly into the Königsbrück-Ruhlander Heiden .

climate

Climatically, the natural area is influenced by both the Elbe valley and the Upper Lusatian mountain and hill country . Located in the main weather direction on the leeward side of the Elbe slope, the area has poorer rainfall than the surrounding area.

vegetation

The potential natural vegetation is forest rennet-hornbeam-oak forests to pine-oak forests.
