history

The district of Löthain is first mentioned in a document as Lethen in 1334 . The original Old Sorbian place name ( Lêtan or Lêton as a locator ) was Germanized over the centuries and so from 1378 Letan emerged , via 1547 Lethan and 1665 Löthayn , then the place name Löthain.

Großkagen was first mentioned in 1205 in the founding document of the Augustinian Canons Monastery of St. Afra in Meissen Reliquos autem fructus quos habet de ipfis villis et de decem manfis ... in utroque Kagan ... , and Niederjahna was also mentioned for the first time.

In 1913 Planitz-Deila emerged from Planitz and Deila, where in 1935 Käbschütz, Leutewitz, Niederstößwitz and Sornitz were incorporated. The following were incorporated into the rural community of Krögis: 1924 Görtitz, On November 1, 1935 Barnitz with Meschwitz, Görna, Luga, Mauna, Nössige, Porschnitz with Kleinprausitz, Schönnewitz and Soppen. On November 1, 1935, the Kagen community was formed from the villages of Großkagen, Kleinkagen, Kaisitz, Mohlis, Nimtitz, Priesa, Pröda and Tronitz. In the same year, Löthain was expanded to include the rural community of Canitz with the districts of Pauschütz, Löbschütz, Mehren and Stroischen. The Jahna community was formed in 1935 from the villages of Gasern, Jesseritz, Oberjahna, Schletta and Sieglitz. In 1937 the Niederjahna von Meißen district was assigned and the Korbitz sub-plant was reclassified to Meißen.

On January 1, 1969, the municipality of Kagen is united with Jahna to Jahna-Kagen . On March 1, 1974, Jahna-Kagen were combined with Löthain to form Jahna-Löthain . The current large municipality Käbschützal was created on January 1, 1994 through the merger of the former municipalities Krögis, Jahna-Löthain and Planitz-Deila.
