Jahna-Löthain

Jahna-Löthain was a community that existed from 1974 to 1994. It went on January 1, 1994 in the Saxon community Käbschützal .

Geography and history

Jahna-Löthain was west of the city of Meißen on the left bank of the Elbe . Before its dissolution in 1994, the community consisted of the 20 districts of Canitz , Gasern , Großkagen , Jesseritz , Kaisitz , Kleinkagen , Löbschütz , Löthain , Mehren , Mohlis , Niederjahna , Nimtitz , Oberjahna , Pauschütz , Priesa , Pröda , Schletta , Sieglitz , Stroischen and Tronitz . The total area of ​​the community was around 2,824 hectares.

On March 1, 1974, the previously independent places Jahna-Kagen and Löthain merged to form Jahna-Löthain. Jahna-Kagen was only formed on January 1, 1969 from Jahna and Kagen . The community was part of the Meißen district ( Dresden district ) in the GDR . It remained in this district even after the reunification and reunification . In 1990, 1520 people lived in Jahna-Löthain.

On January 1, 1994, the three municipalities of Jahna-Löthain, Krögis and Planitz-Deila merged to form the large municipality of Käbschützal with 37 districts. The districts of the original communities became districts of Käbschützal, Jahna-Löthain has not been used as an administrative name since then. The new municipality became part of the district of Meißen-Radebeul formed in the district reform in 1994 (from 1996 only district of Meißen ).
