Görna is a district of the Saxon community Käbschützal in the district of Meißen .

geography

Görna is located southwest of the district town of Meißen on the federal highway 101 , which connects Meißen and the other Käbschützaler districts with the federal motorway 14 (junction " Nossen -Ost"). Roads to Luga and Canitz also branch off in the village . All streets in Görna bear the name of the district. Until 1972 Görna had a connection to the narrow-gauge railway Wilsdruff-Gärtitz with the Görna-Krögis stop . Neighboring locations are Löbschütz in the north, Canitz in the northeast, Luga in the southeast, Schönnewitz in the south and Krögis in the southwest . To the northwest is Mauna . All surrounding places are part of the Käbschützal community.

history

The settlement was first mentioned as Kyrnen in 1334. In 1378 Görna belonged to the Castrum Meißen in the Margraviate of Meißen . The basic rule exercised the manor Wunschwitz out. From the middle of the 16th century a membership in the office of Meissen is indicated. From 1875 Görna was part of the administrative authority of Meißen in the Kingdom of Saxony .

The Görna settlement is a typical farming hamlet . In 1900 the local boundary had a size of 140 hectares . Of the 139 people living in Görna in 1925, 135 were Protestant Lutheran and four were Catholic . The place was parish in the neighboring Krögis and today belongs to the local parish . There had been close ties to Krögis for a long time, so Görna was incorporated there on November 1, 1935 . After the Second World War the place became part of the Soviet occupation zone and later the GDR . In the district reform in 1952 , Krögis and its districts were assigned to the Meissen district.

After the reunification and reunification , Krögis remained in the Meissen district of the newly founded Free State of Saxony . In 1994 Krögis, Planitz-Deila and Jahna-Löthain merged to form the new large municipality Käbschützal with 37 districts. In the same year, due to the district reform in 1994, the district membership changed to the district of Meißen-Radebeul (from 1996 only district of Meißen ). In 2008, during the district reform of 2008 , the neighboring districts of Meißen and Riesa-Großenhain became the third district of Meißen , to which Görna as a district of Käbschützals still belongs to this day. The still preserved Görna station was included in the list of cultural monuments for Käbschützal by the Saxon Ministry of the Interior .
