A Guntherus de Dylowe is first mentioned as the owner of the manor in 1256 . The local manor exercised the manorial rule . The administration of the village was the responsibility of the Meissen Hereditary Authority in the Electorate of Saxony . From 1856 to 1875 the place belonged to the court office of Meißen, then to the administrative governing body of the same name in the Kingdom of Saxony .

In 1900 the local boundary had a size of 81 hectares . At that time Deila had around 90 inhabitants. For the years 1539 and 1930 it is stated that the place was parish in the neighboring Planitz. Today Deila belongs to the parish of Leuben-Ziegenhain-Planitz. In 1913 the two independent municipalities of Planitz and Deila merged to form the municipality of Planitz-Deila . After the Second World War it became part of the Soviet zone of occupation and later the GDR . After the district reform in 1952 , Deila belonged to the Meissen district in the Dresden district .

After reunification and reunification , the community continued to belong to the Meißen district in the newly founded Free State of Saxony . In the district reform in 1994 , the Saxon Ministry of the Interior stipulated that the new district of Meißen-Radebeul (from 1997 district of Meißen) would be formed from the areas of the old district of Meißen and parts of the district of Dresden-Land . In the same year, through the merger of the communities Planitz-Deila, Krögis and Jahna-Löthain, the new large community Käbschützal with 37 districts was created. The districts of Planitz-Deila were separated again and parts of the new municipality.

On August 1, 2008, the two neighboring districts of Meißen and Riesa-Großenhain merged as part of the second district reform in Saxony to form the third district of Meißen .
