Culture and sights
Some cultural monuments are listed in the local list of monuments. The village church of Nauwalde is the most striking architectural monument of the place. This building was erected in 1905 according to plans by the Leipzig architect Paul Lange. The brick building , built in Art Nouveau style , can be found in the center of the village with an adjacent cemetery . There was originally a half-timbered church from the early 18th century on the site . This fell victim to a fire caused by a lightning strike in 1902.
The interior of the church is also shaped by Art Nouveau. Among other things, there is an altar here, which was once donated by the Burschenheim to the L. Bolle Mission in Berlin Alt-Moabit . The church organ dates from 1905. The instrument was created in the workshop of the Olbersdorf organ builder A. Schuster & Sohn (Opus 43).
In addition, the historic building of the former village school is a listed building. This was built in 1873. Other monuments are a memorial to the fallen in the First World War of Nauwalde villagers and two historical stones. Another built from stone monument having thereon a metal plate recalls with an inscription because the lime in that space by December 29 of the 1898 Military club Nauwalde commemorating the 25th government jubilee of the Saxon King Albert was planted .
