Schweinfurth is a district of the Saxon city of Gröditz in the district of Meißen .

Schweinfurth is located about three kilometers north of Nauwalde directly on the Saxon- Brandenburg border. The village is the northernmost settlement in the district of Meißen and thus also the northernmost district of Gröditz.

history
The street green village on Gewannflur belonged to the Grossenhain office in 1696 . The basic rule exercised in 1552, the manor Saathain out. Between 1856 and 1875 Schweinfurth belonged to the Grossenhain court office and then to the Grossenhain administration . In 1900 the size of the town boundary was 255 hectares . In 1925, 136 Evangelical Lutheran citizens and one Catholic lived in Schweinfurth. In 1952, Schweinfurth became part of the Riesa district, which was formed from the administration as an independent municipality . The independence of the place ended on January 1, 1974 when it was incorporated into Nauwalde as the first part of the municipality. In 1994, the district of Riesa became part of the newly formed district of Riesa-Großenhain , which on August 1, 2008, became part of the new district of Meißen formed by the Saxony district reform in 2008 .
Schweinfurth has been part of Gröditz since January 1, 2013.
