history
The area around the Wildsberg (between Roter and Schwarzer Pockau) belonged to the Lauterstein office with the former Lauterstein Castle . Tin mining is mentioned in this area for 1516. With the establishment of the city of Marienberg in 1521, the Rote Pockau became the border between the possessions of the city and the Lauterstein rulership. From 1544 which was built on the side Marienberger Council village , later Council side called. In 1555 the council side belonged ecclesiastically to the Marienberg parish and secularly to the Wolkenstein office , the stately side ecclesiastically to the Zöblitz parish and secular to the Lauterstein office. In 1559 the settlement was first mentioned as "ufn Bobershau". In 1663 the first teacher was named. In the years from 1678 to 1680 the Green Ditch was created to supply 16 stamp mills with impact water. In 1839 the council side and the official side were created as independent communities. One was subordinate to the city of Marienberg and the other to the Lauterstein office, but the seat was moved to Zöblitz after Lauterstein Castle burned down. In 1856 the towns united to form a school community. The earlier division can still be seen from the naming of the streets.
On March 10, 1857, the two places were merged into a political municipality. In 1869 the last mine stopped mining. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1872. With the opening of the Reitzenhain – Flöha railway on May 24, 1875, the community received a railway connection through the “Zöblitz” station (from November 14, 1914, “Zöblitz-Pobershau”) located about 2 kilometers north of the town center in the valley of the Schwarzen Pockau. A new school building was built in 1883. On July 1, 1904, with the inauguration of the Pobershau church, it became an independent parish. In 1912 it was connected to the electricity network, which also increased the number of wood turning machines to 32 (1914). In the years 1920 to 1922 a high pressure water line was laid. The town hall was inaugurated in 1925. In 1928 mining was resumed in the "Zinnerne Bottle" mine. From 1934 the Molchner tunnel was expanded into a show mine and inaugurated a year later. A gymnasium was built for the school in 1940. At the Zöblitz-Pobershau train station on April 16, 1945, 8 people were killed and 72 injured in a low-flying attack on an incoming passenger train.
On January 1, 2012, Pobershau was incorporated into Marienberg.
