Hüttstattmühle
The Hüttstattmühle to the south of the Marienberg district of Ansprung in the Ore Mountains is a former glassworks and grinding mill . The first mention of it comes from the 15th century. Today the property is a recreational home of the Landesverband Landeskirchlicher Communities Sachsen e. V.
history
The glassworks was first mentioned in a document in 1497 in the Berbisdorf contract for the division of their rule, but it is considered certain that it was already producing.
Caspar Schürer, also known as Glaßer, was the owner of the hut until 1536. It is not known whether the hut existed up to this point in time or beyond. The mill and the associated buildings were glassworks.
Grain was ground here from 1843. From 1917 to 1926 the teacher Beyer ran a youth hostel in the mill, after which it was used as a restaurant. At the end of the 1940s, the Hüttstattmühle was used by youth Bible weeks and guests from the Christian community . In 1952 the Hüttstattmühle changed hands and has since been a recreation, bible and leisure home in the Saxon Community Association, today's Landesverband Landeskirchlicher Communities Sachsen e. V.
From 1971 to 1973 the youth hostel "Artur Becker" was built on the neighboring property . From 1991 onwards this served as accommodation for Germans from Russia. In the spring of 2011, House 1 of this former youth hostel was demolished in order to create parking spaces instead. A conglomerate of burnt stone and green, blue and brown glass was found in the masses of earth below, which can be interpreted as evidence of the close proximity of the glass furnace to this point. In addition, a piece of the edge of a ceramic vessel was found, the exact date of which by the Saxon State Office for Archeology is still pending.
present
The Hüttstattmühle has recently been expanded, expanded and modernized. The site has an area of around 4 hectares and includes the main house, a cottage settlement and a campsite.
