In the ten-kilometer race, she was more than five minutes behind the winner, Ljubow Kosyrewa, in 26th place and in the relay, together with Else Amann and Sonnhilde Hausschild, in seventh place. From 1958 she trained in the Marienberg base of SC Dynamo Klingenthal . For the 1960 Winter Olympics , she was able to qualify, but remained in Squaw Valley without use. She had two missions in Innsbruck in 1964 : she was 19th over five kilometers and 16th over ten kilometers. Spiegelhauer was multiple medalist at the national championships of the GDR. She ended her sporting career in 1966.
