Juan Carlos Vera Rivera (born July 5, 1960 in La Calera ) is a former Chilean football player who acted in the attacking midfield or in the attack .

Life

Vera began his professional career at his hometown club Unión La Calera , where he was under contract from 1982 to 1984. After two short-term positions in his home country at Audax Italiano and Huachipato Talcahuano , he moved to the Mexican professional league in 1986 , where he remained until the end of his active career in 1993.

He made his debut in the Mexican professional league in a game held on November 1, 1986 for the capital club Cruz Azul against Chivas Guadalajara , in which he was substituted in the 63rd minute when the score was 1: 3 (final score 1: 5). The two clubs faced each other at the end of the season in the championship final, where Chivas was able to prevail again, but Vera remained without commitment.

In the following season 1987/88 he was a regular at Monarcas Morelia , but moved to Tampico-Madero FC , where he was under contract for two years, but could not prevail.

For the 1990/91 season he joined the UNAM Pumas , with whom he was again a regular and with whom he won the Mexican championship. After only a year he moved again and this time played regularly for Atlas Guadalajara before returning to the Pumas for the 1992/93 season. This season he scored a total of eight goals (seven in the league round and one in the Repechaje ), more than in any other season in the Mexican league. His only "double" was achieved in the home game against his previous employer Atlas, which ended 2-2.
