List of territorial changes in Saxony 2016

The list of territorial changes in Saxony 2016 contains changes to municipal areas of the Free State of Saxony in the period from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016. These include, among other things, mergers and separations of municipalities, incorporation of municipalities into another, changes in the municipality name and Reclassifications from parts of one municipality to another.

In Saxony, there were four changes to the municipal area in 2016, two of which were incorporations, a merger of municipalities and a reclassification of parts of the area. All of the churches that emerged back then still exist today.

  • Municipality before the change : Municipality before the area change
  • Area change : Type of area change
  • Municipality after the change : Municipality after the area change
  • District : District of the municipality after the change of area

The sorting is done chronologically: date, independent cities, rural districts, receiving or newly formed municipality. Communities that still exist today are highlighted in color.
