List of territorial changes in Saxony in 2001

The list of territorial changes in Saxony 2001 contains changes to municipal areas of the Free State of Saxony in the period from January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2001. This includes, among other things, mergers and separations of municipalities, incorporation of municipalities into another, changes in the municipality name and Reclassifications from parts of one municipality to another.

In Saxony, there were nine changes to the municipal area in 2001, including one incorporation, five reclassifications and three amalgamations of municipalities. In seven of the nine cases, the municipality still exists after the change , the others were dissolved by subsequent changes of area.
