In 2006, the 9.1 kilometer long mountain run, which has an altitude difference of 500 meters, started for the 20th time. Economy and Infrastructure
Sehma and the Sehmatal was an important production location for the textile industry during the GDR era. One of the largest yarn refinements in the GDR with around 800 employees was located in Sehma . In today's Neudorf district there was also a large factory that manufactured spinning machines. There is not much left of the "shine" of the textile industry back then. In the factory of the former "Garnveredlung Sehma" there is now a cable manufacturing company that employs around 200 people. The spinning machine construction from Neudorf still exists today, but only with a reduced workforce. Nevertheless, the Spindelfabrik Neudorf GmbH as well as the Neudorf production site of the Mennekes Group, Schröder + Heidler GmbH and Huss Maschinenbau GmbH are among the largest employers, some 100 or more employees, in town.
The Neudorf district is known nationwide for the incense cones made by the Huss family.
traffic
Sehmatal is on the Vejprty – Annaberg-Buchholz railway line and is connected to the DB Erzgebirgsbahn network with the Sehma stop and the Cranzahl train station . In Cranzahl the narrow-gauge Fichtelbergbahn branches off to Oberwiesenthal . Both railway lines run in the Sehmatal.
There is no federal road through the municipality. The connection to the road network is via the state road 266 and district roads leading through the districts.
