Willy Kaltofen
Willy Kaltofen , also Willi Kaltofen , (born February 17, 1918 ; † April 16, 2012 ) was a musician and composer from the Ore Mountains .
Kaltofen was a concert zither soloist and founded the “Willy Kaltofen Group” in 1940, a Heimatterzett and an instrumental group, of which Marianne Hütel from Zwickau and later Horst Gläß belonged to the members and speakers . The small ensemble existed until 1995. Kaltofen was one of the defining personalities of Erzgebirge folk music in the second half of the 20th century.
Kaltofen composed about 60 songs. One of his most famous compositions is the song “Su hall was never dr light shine”. The center of life of Willy Kaltofen was Sehma , a community that today belongs to Sehmatal .
As "Zither Hans" he had in 1987 a brief appearance in the children's series spook from outside the television of the GDR .
