history
The two-row Waldhufendorf Niederdorf was first mentioned as Nyderndorff on May 2, 1447 , when Matthias Schlick von Lazan received the rule of Stollberg from the Saxon Elector Friedrich II. As a location name for Stollberg, the place name can be seen in connection with the southern villages of Mitteldorf and Oberdorf . The village belongs to the Hoheneck manor district (later the Stollberg office ). The oldest existing court book was created in 1541. Around 1600 there was a so-called Schössermühle with 3 grinding courses as well as a board and tart mill in the village. After Pfaffenhain there are seven larger farmsteads that are called Sieben Höfe .
In 1820 , August Schumann mentions Niederdorf under the Grünhain office as the immediate district village “ around 90 houses, 450 residents, 3 mills with 4 gears, and [it] is parish to Stollberg. “In the course of industrialization , mainly smaller companies emerged.
Today Niederdorf is one of the smallest, but also economically strongest communities in the Erzgebirge district.
