history
Großrückerswalde with Boden and Schindelbach
The first documentary mention of Rotgerswalde dates back to April 8, 1386. Margrave Wilhelm I von Meißen assigned the rule of Scharfenstein with associated villages, including Großrückerswalde, as a widow's seat to the widow Anargs von Waldenburg . The village was founded in the course of the German settlement in the east in the second half of the 12th century and received its first parish church at that time . Nothing is known about their appearance. In 1457/60 ( dendro ) the church was given a wooden fortified floor and thus became a fortified church . The village of Boden was first mentioned in 1525 as Fotzenbodem . Andreas von Berbisdorf acquired the Vorwerk ( manor ) Rückerswalde in 1541 .
In 1543/1544 the Marienberg City Council bought "half the village" of Boden, the Bodenmühle, Mauersberg and the Schindelbach Forest. The first teacher mentioned died in 1568 after about 50 years of service. The plague claimed 72 deaths in 1583. In memory of this event, the image of the plague was created in the church. It is one of the oldest pictorial representations of a village in Saxony and contains the names of the deceased. Between 1590 and 1611 the mills in Judenstein, Hirschleithe and on the Fichtebach were built.
In 1705 Rückerswalde received its first school building, in 1707 the place was called Fernrückerswalde . Friedrich Ludwig Graf zu Solms-Wildenfels and Tecklenburg bought the manor in 1744. Schindelbach was first mentioned in a document in 1752. The local residents bought a fire engine in 1801 and used it to equip the wooden syringe house . In 1810 the manor and the castle burned down. In 1820 the place was named Großrückerswalde . In 1821 the residents of Boden built a stone bridge over the Preßnitz. Around 1850 the manor district with the districts Fichtenbach, Neue Häuser, Scheidebach and Haus am Wasser became the own municipality of Rückerswalde . In 1864 the first school building was replaced by a new building, and a post office opened in 1880. The Voluntary Fire Brigade (FF) Großrückerswalde was founded on February 13, 1881, ten years later the FF Rückerswalde followed. In 1887 Rückerswalde received a telephone connection to Marienberg. The Pressnitz Valley Railway was inaugurated on May 31, 1892 . Schindelbach opened its own school building in 1894; The municipal office opened in 1911. In 1913, Rückerswalde connected to the electricity supply, and Schindelbach followed in 1927. During the outbreak of the Spanish flu in Europe it came in 1918 to an influenza - epidemic in the community. In 1924 the volunteer fire brigades in Boden and Schindelbach were formed.
As a result of the church struggle between the German Christians and the Confessing Christians , the parish split up for a time. A gliding school was established on the Hänelberg in 1935/1936 .
After the Second World War until 1990
In 1949, SV Großrückerswalde 49 , which still exists today, was founded.
The Society for Sport and Technology took over the glider airfield in 1950 and maintained a group of interested glider pilots in town. In 1956 a water pipe was built in Schindelbach, the school building had to give way to a new building from 1961 to 1963, which in 1978 also received a teaching pool. In 1968 youth ski jumps (K-points 13 m and 27 m) were built on the Hänelberg. Between 1969 and 1979 there was a new local water pipe in Großrückerswalde. Despite violent protests by the population, the Deutsche Reichsbahn shut down the narrow-gauge railway Wolkenstein – Jöhstadt (Preßnitztalbahn) in 1986 and dismantled it in the following years.
