history

ground

Boden was first mentioned in a document in 1525 and at that time belonged to the office of Wolkenstein . In the years 1543/44, half of the town of Boden was bought by the Marienberg town council. A mill was built in Hirschleithe between 1590 and 1611. A stone bridge over the Preßnitz was built in 1821. In 1835 Boden (official site), Boden (council side) and (Nieder-) Schindelbach (council side) merged to form the municipality of Boden. With the opening of the Preßnitztalbahn , Boden received a stopping point, which from 1905 was designated as the “Boden bei Wolkenstein” station. The Boden volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1924. The incorporation of Boden to Großrückerswalde took place on May 1, 1936. In 1986 the railway line was finally closed. The Preßnitztalradweg was laid out in 2001 on the route between Niederschmiedeberg and Wolkenstein . A service area has been located in the former train station in Boden since 1997.
