Amtsberg is a municipality in the Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony .
geography
location
The municipality of Amtsberg lies between the Zwönitz and Zschopau rivers . The highest point of the place is the Dittersdorfer Höhe with 553 m. The district of Dittersdorf is a forest hoof village . It is located in a south-west-north-east direction from the Zwönitztal to the Dittersdorfer Höhe. The district of Weißbach (also a Waldhufendorf) is located south of Amtsberg in a west-east direction. To the east of Weißbach is the Schlößchen district, a former Vorwerk . The district of Wilischthal at the confluence of the Zschopau and Wilisch rivers is located south of Weißbach and Schlößchen.

In the north the city of Chemnitz borders the municipality with the districts Einsiedel and Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain , in the west Burkhardtsdorf with the district Kemtau , in the northeast Gornau / Erzgeb. , in the east Zschopau in the south Drebach with the district Grießbach and in the southwest Gelenau / Erzgeb.

Memorials
- Three memorial plaques from 1978 in the cemetery in the Weißbach district commemorated 17 women and men from the Soviet Union , Poland and Belgium who were abducted to Germany during the Second World War and were victims of forced labor .
The plaque was replaced by a memorial stone in 1994. - Memorial plaques in front of the cemetery in the district of Schlösschen commemorated the dead in Schlösschen during the First World War .

Amtsberg is crossed by the B 180 , and there is also a connection to the B 174 in Dittersdorf . There is also a stop for the Zwönitztalbahn in Dittersdorf .
education
There is a primary school in Dittersdorf. The middle school in Weißbach was closed at the end of the 2005/2006 school year because it was affected by the closure plans of the Free State of Saxony due to insufficient student numbers.
The community has three children's facilities. The facilities Regenbogen in Dittersdorf and Knirpsenland in Weißbach are operated by the municipality. The establishment of the Generation House Lebensbaum is run by the independent sponsor of the same name.
