Middle Ages to the 19th century

The districts of Gersdorf and Möhrsdorf are classic Waldhufendörfer and are first mentioned in documents in 1225 (Gersdorf) and 1264 (Möhrsdorf).

The district of Bischheim was first mentioned in a document in 1225. In 1313 a manor is mentioned. In 1752 Charlotte Sophie von Schleinitz laid out the park in the French Rococo style, which was redesigned in the English style around 1880, which was largely due to the influence of the Royal Saxon garden director, Hofrat Friedrich Bouché . The pavilion was added.

The Reichenbach district was first mentioned in a document in 1248. The place emerged as a typical Waldhufendorf during the German colonization in the east .

The Reichenau district was first mentioned in a document in 1436. Between 1429 and 1431, the Hussites looted the place and destroyed the church.

During the Thirty Years' War the plague killed 248 residents, almost the entire population.

Another stroke of fate befell the place in 1680, when the plague raged and claimed almost 80 lives.

Reichenbach also suffered in the Wars of Liberation ; Prussian and then Russian troops were billeted.

20th century

The open-air stage in the park was built in the 1930s.

The castle burned down in 1945 after the end of the war. The last owners of the palace and park were the von Bünau family . This also included the manor and the nursery. The castle has been a listed building since 1941. The park is 5.6 hectares. 1.4 hectares of which are ponds. - There are around 1000 trees in the park, most of which are more than 200 years old. The rhododendrons were planted around 1970.
