Albert Kosler

Albert Kosler (born May 21, 1933 in Häslich ( Saxony ); † August 1, 2018 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From March 18 to October 3, 1990 he was a member of the last and first freely elected People's Chamber and from 1992 to 1994 a member of the European Parliament with observer status.

Life and work

After attending elementary school, secondary school and high school in Kamenz , he passed the Abitur and studied biology at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Greifswald from 1952 to 1957 . He completed his studies with a degree in biology and received his doctorate in 1965. rer. nat. From 1980 to 1982 he trained as a medical biologist with a postgraduate degree in environmental protection in Dresden.

From 1959 to 1966 Albert Kosler worked as a scientific assistant at the Biological Research Institute Hiddensee and from 1966 to 1990 as an employee in the District Hygiene Institute Berlin (since 1978 as a department head). From 1990 to 1992 he worked in the Senate Department for Health in Berlin.

Albert Kosler was a Protestant, married and has four children.

Political party

Albert Kosler had been a member of the CDU block party since 1949 . From 1977 to 1985 he was CDU local chairman in Berlin-Altglienicke and from 1985 to 1990 a member of the CDU district executive in Berlin-Treptow .

MP

From the People's Chamber election in 1990 on March 18 to German reunification on October 3, 1990, he was a member of the first and last freely elected People's Chamber. He was elected in constituency 01 (Berlin).

From 1992 to 1994 he was a member of the European Parliament with observer status .
