List of territorial changes in Saxony in 1998

The list of territorial changes in Saxony 1998 contains changes to municipal areas of the Free State of Saxony in the period from January 1, 1998 to December 31, 1998. These include, among other things, mergers and separations of municipalities, incorporation of municipalities into another, changes in the municipality name and Reclassifications from parts of one municipality to another.

In Saxony there were 37 changes to the municipality in 1998, of which 21 were incorporated, 14 were reclassified and two municipalities were merged. In 35 of the 37 cases, the municipality still exists after the change , the others were dissolved due to subsequent changes of area.
