Podelwitz is a district of the municipality Rackwitz in the district of northern Saxony .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1250 as Bodelwicz . On July 1, 1998 a part of the community (352 ha with 168 Ew. ) Was incorporated into the independent city of Leipzig . The remainder of the community ( 305 ha, 380 residents on July 1, 1998, 358 residents on December 31, 1998 ) was incorporated into Rackwitz at the beginning of 1999 . The place has always belonged to the administrative area ( Amt | Amtshauptmannschaft | Landkreis) Leipzig and only came to the district of Delitzsch through the incorporation in Rackwitz in 1999 , and from 2008 to the district of North Saxony .

Buildings

The church dates from the 13th century, the winged altar in it from 1520.
