history

The place on the Schwarzen Elster and the Vincenzgraben was first mentioned in 1248 on the occasion of the foundation of the St. Marienstern Monastery . Dörgenhausen was incorporated into Hoyerswerda on July 1, 1998.

The "Christ the King" chapel was built between 1952 and 1953 at the suggestion of some farmers. The building is 20 m long and 10 m wide. It has a Gothic winged altar from before the Reformation. The middle part is 1.40 × 1.65 m and shows the Mother of God with her Son on her lap. On the sides are St. Nicholas and St. Barbara pictured.

The Dörgenhausen post mill was built in Tschausdorf-Plau in 1707 and dismantled in 1920, brought to Dörgenhausen and rebuilt. From 1922 to 1942 it was in operation for contract milling.
