Dąbie ( German Gersdorf , formerly Gerhardsdorf ) is a place in the Powiat Krośnieński of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with 4930 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).

history

In 1565 the place name Görsdorff was in use, in 1644 Giersdorff .

Until 1945 the place was in the district of Crossen , Province of Brandenburg .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the region with Gersdorf was occupied by the Red Army in the spring of 1945 . After the end of the war, the village was placed under Polish administration. In the following years the entire population was expelled and replaced by Poles. Gersdorf received the new name Dąbie .
