The Lithuanian Medical Library (lit.Lietuvos medicinos biblioteka ) is a library in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius .

history

In 1944 the state central scientific and medical library was founded in Soviet Lithuania . From 1952 to 1990 it was called Valstybinė mokslinė medicinos biblioteka . It has had its current name since 1990. From 1945 the books were obtained from Kauno medicinos institutas , from Moscow , Charkow and other Soviet research institute libraries , from private persons such as Vytautas Girdzijauskas , Liubomiras Laucevičius , Tomas Kairiūkštis , Chackelis Kibarskis , V. Šimkūnas etc.
