Little Ethiopia
Little Ethiopia is a neighborhood in Los Angeles . The district is located in the Carthay district between Fairfax Avenue, Olympic Boulevard and Pico Boulevard. Mainly Ethiopians and Eritreans live in the district . In Little Ethiopia you will therefore find many Ethiopian shops and restaurants. The district has only existed since the early 1990s. Before that, the streets were full of Jewish shops. The area was previously known as South Fairfax and is still sometimes called that by locals. In 2004, the then mayor of Los Angeles, James Hahn , declared Little Ethiopia an official district.
The Little Ethiopia Cultural & Resource Center (LECRC) is located in Little Ethiopia .
