The Little Wategos Beach is a beach on Cape Byron in the Australian state of New South Wales . It's the easternmost beach on mainland Australia.
The beach on the Cape Byron peninsula is about one and a half kilometers east of the outskirts of Byron Bay . It is located on the northern edge of the cape and is therefore facing Bayron Bay and not the open sea. The Cape Byron Lighthouse is around 500 meters south . Like most of the peninsula, the beach is part of the Cape Byron State Conservation Area .
It is not accessible by vehicles; a footpath branches off the Cape Byron Walking Track . There is no infrastructure and no lifesavers on the beach. Fishing in the rocks on the beach is allowed. Further to the southwest is the larger Wategos Beach .
