Liuwa Plain National Park

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Liuwa floodplains are north of Mongu in Zambia, west of the upper reaches of the Zambezi between its tributaries Luanginga and Luambimba. The administration of the national park is in Kalabo .

This national park lives from the migration of huge herds of wildebeest and zebra from Angola in the rainy season. Numerous antelope species also come to the Liuwaaue, which is in full bloom. The floodplain consists of open grassland with groves, sandy scrubland and watercourses far from any "civilization".

tourism

The national park has no tourist infrastructure. Safari fans have to allow two days for the 180 km journey from Sesheke to Kalabo on the sandy paths.
