The Livit AG is a Swiss company for Real Estate Management, based in Zurich and since 1999 wholly owned subsidiary of the insurance group Swiss Life .

The management of real estate has been the core business since the 1960s. As a complementary service, Livit AG offers rental management, construction management and facility management.

Livit has nine branches in Switzerland and employs over 560 people. Livit manages a total of 174,250 rental properties, 2,116,000 m² of commercial space and a managed property value of around 48 billion Swiss francs.

history

Livit AG was founded in 1963 as a subsidiary of Intrag AG, an investment fund company of the Swiss Bank Corporation . The primary business purpose was the administration and rental of real estate. From 1972 Livit opened further locations in Basel, St. Gallen, Bern, Solothurn, Lausanne, Lucerne, Lugano and Geneva.

In 1998 Livit took over the property management of Rentenanstalt / Swiss Life. At the same time, Rentenanstalt / Swiss Life took a 51 percent stake and UBS 49 percent in Livit. In 1999 Rentenanstalt / Swiss Life took over UBS's stake in Livit. In June 2000 the merger with Uto Albis AG took place, which was dissolved into Livit. With a rental turnover of 1.2 billion francs, Livit was the largest property manager in Switzerland at the turn of the millennium.
