Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park
The Regional Nature Park Livradois-Forez ( French Parc naturel régional Livradois-Forez ) is located in the French departments of Puy-de-Dôme and Haute-Loire of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region .
The nature park, founded in 1986, covers an area of 322,000 hectares. 170 communities with 110,000 inhabitants form the park, another 10 communities are associated. The park administration is based in Saint-Gervais-sous-Meymont ( 45 ° 41 ′ N , 3 ° 36 ′ E, ).
Landscapes
Some interesting landscapes of the park:
- to the east the mountain range Monts du Forez with its striking high pastures Hautes Chaumes
- the valley of the Dore , which divides the park in north-south direction
- in the center the Livradois, with the
- Haut-Livradois , a forest landscape in the Monts du Livradois and the
- Bas-Livradois
- in the north the Bois Noirs mountain range
- in the northwest the volcanic hills around Vic-Le-Comte and Billom and
- in the south the volcanoes of the Velay .
