Lyubov Viktorovna Burda

Lyubov Viktorovna Burda ( Russian Любовь Викторовна Бурда ; born April 11, 1953 in Voronezh ) is a former Soviet gymnast . She was a two-time Olympic champion .

Lyubow Burda was a member of the Soviet squad at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City and won the team competition together with Sinaida Voronina , Natalja Kutschinskaja , Larissa Petrik , Olga Karassjowa and Lyudmila Turishcheva , in the individual competition Burda placed on the 25th rank. At the gymnastics world championships in 1970 , she won gold again with the Soviet squad. Apart from Tamara Lasakowitsch , who had replaced Natalia Kutschinskaja, the same gymnasts were members of the team as in 1968. Erika Zuchold won the horse jump at the 1970 World Championships ahead of Karin Janz , Lyubow Burda and Lyudmila Turishcheva both received bronze medals with the same number of points. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , the Soviet team with Lyudmila Turishcheva, Olga Korbut, Tamara Lasakowitsch, Lyubow Burda, Elwira Saadi and Antanina Koschal won the team competition . In the individual ranking, Burda took fifth place. With fourth place in the horse jump and fifth place on the ground, she was also represented in two equipment decisions.

In 2001 Lyubov Burda was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame together with her husband Nikolai Andrianow .
