Llech Idris

Llech Idris is about 3.1 m high, 1.5 m wide and 0.3 m thick cube-like, however, unilaterally above pointed Menhir ( English Standing stone ), the flow near the Gain east of Bronaber at Trawsfynydd in Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd in Wales .

The name goes back to a legendary Welsh hero whose stories feature a magical chair (cadair) . Whoever sleeps in it wakes up either a bard or a madman. According to legend, Idris sat in his seat on the summit of Cader Idris and threw the stone into its current position. Idris is said to have been a hero associated with King Arthur and killed in battle against the Saxons around 630 AD.

About 300 m away is the early Christian tombstone Bedd Porus . The stone circle remnant Pen-y-stryd is also nearby.
