Lobelia subpubera is a species of the lobelia genuswithin the bluebell family . It occurs in Ecuador .
description
Lobelia subpubera reaches a height of 3 to 10 centimeters. The stem is hairy or smooth with shorter stolons . The lower leaves are spatulate or lanceolate. They are 10 mm long, 3 to 5 mm wide. The leaf blade is pointed and narrows at the base into a short 2 to 4 mm long petiole. The leaf margin is toothed with callouses. The upper side of the leaf is hairy, the underside of the leaf smooth. The upper leaves are lanceolate to linear and sessile. The terminal clusters have few flowers. The flower stalks are 4 to 6 mm long as the bracts. The flower cup is twisted. The sharply pointed sepals are 3 to 4 mm long. The 10 mm long ciliate corolla is bluish. The flowering period is from April to May.

Lobelia subpubera grows on the Páramos at altitudes between 3,500 and 4,000 m.
status
Lobelia subpubera is endangered by habitat destruction. Only two subpopulations are known. The first is on the Cotopaxi volcano within the Parque Nacional Cotopaxi , the second is around the Lagunas de Atillo (Atillo Lake) within the Parque Nacional Sangay in the province of Chimborazo .
