Loch Bhrusda ( English : Loch Brusta ) is a lake on the Scottish Hebridean island of Berneray . It is centrally located on the small island about 250 m north-northeast of Loch Beag Bhuirgh . With the small scattered settlements of Rushgarry , Backhill and Borve , the most important places on Berneray are within a few hundred meters. Beinn Shleibhe and Borve Hill , the highest peaks on the island, are about 800 m northeast and 400 m southeast, respectively. There are no islands in the lake. Loch Bhrusda is the largest lake on the small Hebridean island. A small stream flows southwards, which leads through Loch Beag Bhuirgh and finally flows into the bay of Loch Borve on the Berneray Sound .
