Loch Dungeon is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Lowlands. It is located about eight miles northwest of New Galloway in the Dumfries and Galloway Council Area just outside the Galloway Forest Park .
Loch Dungeon is about 1.1 km long and up to 400 m wide. The lake is at a height of 305 m and is a maximum of 32 m deep. From the south bank, the Point of Ringreoch peninsula protrudes into the lake, which takes up about one sixth of the total area. Loch Dungeon is traversed by the Hawse Burn creek, which feeds it to the west with water from the nearby Rhinns of Kells and drains it to the north. From there the water flows into Loch Minnoch, which is just a kilometer to the north . The north and east banks of Loch Dungeon are wooded while the south and west are grasslands. The lake is not accessed by any road, but can be reached via forest paths.
