Loch Laingeadail is a lake on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . It is located on the Ardnave peninsula about one kilometer west of the village of Kilnave . The lake is a maximum of 850 m long and 370 m wide and extends in an east-west direction. 150 m to the north-west is the smaller neighboring lake Loch Laingeadail Beag , to which there is no direct connection. At the northeast end of Loch Laingeadail a small stream called Casach Loch Laingeadail flows down and flows into the Ardnave Loch, 1.3 km away . The remains of a Shieling hut may have been discovered on the banks of the stream .
In the southwest of the lake, about 30 m from the shore, there is a small, almost circular island, which may have been built entirely by human hands. This crannóg rises about 1.5 m above the surface of the water and shows the remains of human dwellings, including a building and a boat dock. It was connected to the land via an artificial dam, which is only partially preserved.
