Loch Lomond is an American folk music band from Portland , Oregon . Loch Lomond was originally founded in 2003 as a solo project by musician Ritchie Young . With the help of producer Rob Oberdorder, Young recorded the first When We Were Mountains , which was released on the In Music We Trust Records label. In the early years, Loch Lomond toured mostly Oregon and the Pacific Northwest of the United States. During this time, the line-up varied between solo appearances by Young and interactions with various guest musicians. During this time, numerous studio recordings were made, of which a best-of was released on the album Lament for Children in spring 2006 . At the end of 2006, Loch Lomond was finally constituted in its current line-up. In 2007 the album "Paper the Walls" was created. In 2008 Loch Lomond toured with the American folk-rock group The Decemberists . In 2009 the albums Trumpets For Paper Children and Night Bats were released.
