Loch na Berie

Loch Na Berie (also Traigh Na Berie is called) an Iron Age broch and associated dam at Loch na Berie (a silted lake) in Kneep (also Cnip), on the Isle of Lewis the Outer Hebrides in Scotland .

The Broch is about 400 meters from the northwest coast. It is believed that it used to be on an island as the land in the east has become swampy . The broch is about 16.5 m in diameter. The walls are about 3.0 meters thick and in places over 2.0 m high. A dam, made of stones removed from the broch, was built to the west of the broch, the modern being believed to be based on an older dam. The brochure was excavated in the 1980s.

Broch Dun Bharabhat is around 500 m away .
