Lodemann Bridge

The Lodemannbrücke in Hanover is a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over Ihme and is used in terms of traffic, especially during major events, to empty the sports park at the Niedersachsenstadion as smoothly as possible . The building, erected in the early 1960s, connects Ferdinand-Wilhelm-Fricke-Weg in Calenberger Neustadt with Lodemannweg in the Linden-Süd district .

History and description

In May 1963, as a result of an architecture competition, the design for the Lodemann Bridge, which was then built over the Ihme near Ricklingen , was created. It was named after the former Lord Mayor of Linden , Hermann Lodemann (1869–1944), while the Lodemannweg , also laid out in 1963 and leading from Ritter-Brüning-Strasse to Lodemannbrücke, only received its official name in 1970.

The Lodemann Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge , single-hip in the form of a cluster . The ropes were led through only one point in the A-shaped pylon , which was emphasized by an attached needle-like tip. The middle girder of the bridge protrudes about 80 cm above the height of the pavement and thereby separates the pedestrian path from the cycle lane.

Especially after the construction of the park stage , which is almost opposite the bridge, many visitors come to concerts on the Lodemann Bridge to listen to the music for free or watch the sunset.
